The Faculty of Hair Design prepares graduates in our Abbotsford campus with the skills, knowledge and
attitudes necessary for a successful career in the hairdressing profession.
Full-Time Program
The full-time Hair Design Program consists of 1500 hours of training over the
course of 40 weeks, or approximately 10 months. Academy hours are 9:00 am to
5:00 pm, from Tuesday to Saturday. The full-time Program is divided into five
levels, each with a focus more advance than the previous level. Click

Level 100
The focus is on development of a professional self, procedures, practices,
sanitation, safety, chemical hair services, hair cutting and finishing.
Level 200
Students move onto the clinic floor and work with clients/guests in a
supervised and supportive environment.
Level 300
Total client/guest experience from chemical work, cutting and finishing, to
retail sales, service, and communication skills. Sciences of hair design
including anatomy, physiology, chemistry and physics.
Level 400
Introduced to a variety of cutting tools, advanced cutting and chemical
applications. Prepares students for final exams, including a mock run of
industry standard certification exams.
Level 500
Weekly seminars and assignments that explore employability skills, salon
ethics, clientele building and retention, job search skills, advanced hair
colouring, salon business and design. To help you become truly employable.
New classes begin every 2 months, Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep and Nov.
